The Blue Whistling Thrush is a striking bird found across the mountains of Central Asia, South Asia, China, and Southeast Asia. It is renowned for its loud, human-like whistling song, which is often heard at dawn and dusk.

Physically, this bird is a rich violet-blue with shiny spangling at the tips of its feathers, except for the lores, abdomen, and under the tail. Its wing coverts display a slightly different shade of blue, and the median coverts feature white spots. The color of the bill varies by region; some populations have bright yellow bills, while others have dark bills. The Blue Whistling Thrush measures approximately 31 to 35 cm in length and weighs between 136 and 231 grams.

This species thrives in damp environments and often forages along streams for snails, crabs, fruits, and insects. According to conservation standards, it is classified as "Least Concern."

The White-tailed Robin (Cinclidium leucurum) is a striking and secretive bird found in the forests of South and Southeast Asia, including Malaysia. It inhabits subtropical or tropical moist forests, often in hilly or montane regions, and prefers shaded areas with dense undergrowth.

This bird is medium-sized, measuring about 18–20 cm in length. Males are particularly eye-catching, with glossy dark blue plumage, black underparts, and a distinctive white patch on their tail that becomes prominent in flight. Females, on the other hand, have a more subdued appearance with olive-brown upperparts and lighter underparts.

White-tailed Robins are primarily insectivorous, often foraging on the forest floor for beetles, ants, and caterpillars. They are known for their melodious song, featuring sharp whistles and rhythmic notes.

MALAYAN PARTRIDGE (Arborophila campbelli) 

The Malay partridge, also known as the Malaysian Hill Partridge (Arborophila campbelli), is a ground-dwelling bird found primarily in the forested highlands of Peninsular Malaysia. It is part of the pheasant family and is known for its shy and elusive nature.

This bird has a striking plumage, typically characterized by a mix of earthy tones like brown and gray, with intricate markings on its body. Its face often has a combination of black, white, and chestnut patterns, which give it a distinctive appearance. The Malay partridge is a small to medium-sized bird with strong legs, adapted for walking and scratching the forest floor in search of insects, seeds, and fruits.

These birds are known for their preference for dense, understory vegetation, which offers them cover and protection. They are usually found in pairs or small groups and communicate through a series of melodious calls.
