Sangat teruja dengan penampilannya. Dikategorikan sebagai burung hijrah. Bersaiz agak besar antara 26-28cm. Ia muncul dari dalam rimbunan belukar dengan warna oren dibahagian dada sehingga keatas kepala dan warna jalur hitam-putih melintang bawah badan sehingga ke bahagian ekor. Bahagian atas belakang badan dari belakang tengkuk sehingga ke ekor berwarna coklat terang atau `olive color'. Kakinya berwarna kelabu kehitaman.
Dari senarai IUCN 2020, populasinya semakin berkurangan.

The Slaty-legged Crake (Rallina eurizonoides) is a secretive waterbird belonging to the rail and crake family (Rallidae). It is found across South Asia, from India and Sri Lanka to the Philippines and Indonesia.
Physical Description
- Size: About 25 cm (9.8 in) in length.
- Plumage: Brown back, chestnut-colored head and breast, and bold black-and-white barring on the flanks, belly, and undertail.
- Throat: White, contrasting with the darker head.
- Bill: Yellowish.
- Legs: Greenish-gray, distinguishing it from similar crakes.
Habitat & Behavior
- Prefers swamps, wet forests, and dense undergrowth near water sources.
- Territorial and elusive, often hiding in bushes when disturbed.
- Forages by probing mud and shallow water, feeding on berries, insects, and small invertebrates.
- Nests on the ground or in low bushes, laying 4–8 eggs, with an incubation period of about 20 days.
Vocalization
- Calls at night, producing a series of doubled hoots that resemble the Mountain Scops-Owl.
Conservation Status
The Slaty-legged Crake is classified as Least Concern.
