LONG TAILED BROADBILL

BURUNG TAKAU INJAP / BAYAN
Long Tailed Broadbill (Psarisomus dalhousiae)

The long-tailed broadbill (Psarisomus dalhousiae) is a striking and vibrant bird found in South and Southeast Asia, including Malaysia. It is easily recognized by its bright green body, which is complemented by a black cap and a distinctive yellow throat. The bird's long tail, as its name suggests, adds to its elegant appearance. Its face often has shades of blue, and there are hints of turquoise on its wings, creating a truly colorful display.

These birds inhabit evergreen forests, where they live in small groups or pairs. They are known for their playful and acrobatic behavior, often seen hopping through the canopy or darting after insects mid-air. The long-tailed broadbill builds elaborate hanging nests, typically in colonies, adding to their charm.
